Satoia Wright, a native of Ohio, is a dedicated Middle and Secondary Mathematics Educator with 15 years of experience teaching in diverse communities across the United States. After earning her bachelor's degree from Syracuse University, she worked for educational nonprofit organizations as a classroom translator and academic tutor. These experiences deepened her commitment to education and led her to pursue a master's degree in teaching from Relay Graduate School of Education.
A lifelong learner, Satoia was recently awarded a Fulbright Grant by the U.S. Department of Education. She currently serves as a middle school math teacher and the Math Department Chair for Middle and Upper School at Friends Select. In addition to her teaching role, she is a curriculum designer specializing in contextualizing math concepts and developing math materials in Spanish.
Passionate about making mathematics meaningful, Satoia designs curricula that go beyond content-specific skills, encouraging students to "Read the World" through mathematics as they explore and develop solutions to real-world phenomena. She believes this approach cultivates critical thinkers who are better equipped to navigate and engage with the complexities of a pluralistic society.
